About the Titan

How to recognise it

In ordinary light Titan looks like a smooth, fuzzy orange ball, because its thick, hazy atmosphere hides the surface completely.

What makes it special

Titan is the only moon in the Solar System known to have a substantial atmosphere. Beneath the haze are lakes and seas of liquid hydrocarbons such as methane and ethane. It is slightly smaller than Ganymede but larger than the planet Mercury.
